Position Summary:  

The Medical Assistant will perform routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the offices of physicians and other health practitioners running smoothly. 

 

  • Checking and recording vital signs
  • Reporting and recording accurate patient history summaries
  • Preparing patients for exams and procedures
  • Scheduling and confirming appointments
  • Telephone triage
  • Preparing charts/Clearing all MA Buckets
  • Assisting with office procedures under the direction of the physician’s requirements
  • Projects as assigned
  • Learning front desk admin duties for potential cross coverage
  • Submit Authorization request as needed for patient treatment

Position Requirements:

 

  • Regional/state Certificate of Medical Assistant
  • CPR/BLS infant and adult
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a medical assistant position
  • Previous experience working with AthenaHealth highly desirable
  • Previous experience working in an OB/GYN environment highly desirable
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Excellent communication skills oral and written; able to communicate effectively with patients and all levels within the care center
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced office environment
  • Experience with medical coding

 

 

Physical Demand:

 

  • Ability to stand/bend at a 90-degree angle, 25%-50% of time
  • Capability of lifting patients/transporting as needed
